The HBO documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds was due out in March but has been moved to January 7th, 2017 in light of the passing of the two stars. Carrie Fisher passed away on Tuesday after suffering cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Fisher was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical and was placed on a ventilator. Fisher was 60-years-old. Legendary actress Debbie Reynolds, who is the mother of Carrie Fisher, passed away barely 24 hours later at the age of 84. Reynolds, who was born on April 1, 1932 in El Paso, Texas, acted in several movies including Singin’ in the Rain, The Affairs of Dobie Gillis, Bundle of Joy, The Catered Affair, How the West Was Won, and many, many more. Fisher, who was also an actress, is perhaps best known for her role as Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan in the Star Wars films. Fans, friends, and colleagues have expressed their grief and sadness at the passing of the two stars. Mark Hamill, known the world over as the actor who played Luke Skywalker, penned a touching tribute to the late actress in a Facebook post. Kimberly J. Brown, who acted in the Halloweentown films alongside Reynolds, also penned a tribute that was posted to Variety. The documentary Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds has so far received positive reviews and has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
