Netflix Drops First Trailer for 'Spenser Confidential' Starring Winston Duke & Mark Wahlberg

Wahlberg and Duke are roommates in the upcoming action-packed movie set to release in March. 

Winston Duke and Mark Wahlberg are the stars of Netflix’s latest action movie Spenser Confidential

In the hilarious new trailer, Wahlberg is Spenser a former cop who was framed and jailed, while Duke plays his roommate Hawk, a rising boxer. The trailer also stars Henry played Alan Arkin who is Wahlberg’s mentor and old boxing coach. 

According to Entertainment Weekly, Spenser and Hawk are forced to be roommates when two of Spenser’s former colleagues end up dead. Spenser also enlists the help of his ex-girlfriend Cissy (Iliza Shlesinger) alongside Hawk to investigate and take down the killers.

Throughout the action-packed trailer Walhberg and Duke exchange laugh provoking lines and Mark manages to flex his fighting skills. Surprisingly, rapper Post Malone also makes an appearance in the beginning of the clip.

Spenser Confidential was directed by Pete Berg, it also stars Bokeem Woodbine and Marc Maron. The screenplay was written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Helgeland. Entertainment Weekly reports the movie was inspired by the Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland a best-selling novel by Ace Atkins.

Winston Duke previously appeared in Jordan Peele’s horror thriller Us. His breakout role came in 2018’s Black Panther directed by Ryan Coogler. He starred alongside Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, and Michael B. Jordan as the character M’Baku, an enemy of the Black Panther. Later this month, Duke’s newest film Nine Days starring Zazie Beetz will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. 

Spenser Confidential begins streaming March 6 on Netflix. Take a look at the trailer below.
