Neneh Cherry comes back with "Out Of The Black" - an irresistibly bouncy track with slow burning bass - featuring Swedish pop queen Robyn. The track arrives ahead of Cherry's forthcoming Blank Project LP - her first since the 1996 Man LP - dropping on February 25th in the US via Smalltown Supersound. Neneh Cherry broke down her feelings about the collaboration with Robyn during a recent chat with Pitchfork:
“[The song is] not the one that you would expect that we would have collaborated on. The obvious thing would be for Robyn and I to do a jumping-up-and-down-type song or something a bit more cheeky, but it’s quite melancholy.”
Neneh Cherry keeps the new joints coming with "Everything" and “Everything” (Villalobos & Loderbauer Remix). "Everything" is a sparse electro track from FourTet that finds Cherry dishing out a sassy set of lyrics that resonate against the negative space. Villalobos & Loderbauer respect the standard of spare production with a mix that doesn't get too heady or frantic until Cherry has said her piece.
