Pass The Popcorn: Napster Documentary - 'Downloaded' [Trailer]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

My earliest memories of Napster are mostly about my older brother and his heavy downloading. That...and the recurring nightmare I had as an 8 year old, of the police busting down our doors because he downloaded too much, and him telling them that it was all me. Since then, the downloading frenzy only got bigger, with programs like Limewire and Kazaa becoming popular, followed by the widespread use of torrents. But we can't forget what started it all. The OG internet music pirates. The real guys behind Napster (you know, Seth Green's roommate from The Italian Job).

Check out the trailer for Alex Winter's upcoming documentary Downloaded, chronicling the rise, fall, and legacy of Napster. Featuring interviews with acclaimed musicians like Snoop, Mike D, and more, the documentary delves deep into the social, political, and musical effects that Napster had on the world and is still currently having (can you spell SOPA?). Peep the trailer below.
