Mykki Blanco And Teyana Taylor Go Back And Forth Over "WTP" Feature Fee Dispute

Mykki Blanco said they weren't credited on the song until a year after its release.

Mykki Blanco has claimed that they haven't been paid their feature fee for Teyana Taylor's "WTP" from her 2018 album K.T.S.E.

The artist first took to Instagram to speak out on the matter and told their fans not to stream "WTP," writing: "Can you believe it’s been two years and Universal Music has still not paid me my feature fee for this song? Can you believe it took 1 year with the help of my lawyer to get credited on the song, because it did. I wrote on and co- produced this track as well as writing the verse that Kanye literally raps on 'Hurry'. Is that a big accomplishment to write for other artists NO, this isn’t about clout."

They then accused Taylor's team and Universal Music Group (Universal is the parent company for Def Jam Records, which distributes releases from GOOD Music, the Kanye West-founded label Taylor is a part of) of treating them "with so much disrespect."

A back and forth then started on Twitter after Taylor responded to Blanco.

"All of it falls on Kanye because he put Mykki on the song," Taylor said in a statement. At another point, the artist continued: "Mykki u wack for how u going out, cause YOU KNOW I have nothing to do with this & YOU KNOW I PERSONALLY made sure you was properly taken care of on my end."

Mykki responded with multiple tweets, saying in one of them: "IF YOU WANNA QUOTE EMAILS, I HAVE 2 YEARS WORTH OF EMAILS FROM YOUR SIDE LITERALLY IGNORING MY MANAGER, IGNORING MY BUSINESS MANAGER/ACCOUNTANT AND IGNORING MY LAWYER. Teyana don't play me, this DOES NOT ALL FALL ON KANYE. Just own your side and move on."

In response, Taylor said that she hasn't "received one text or even a dm about what you've been thru," despite Mykki having her number.

"Ok GIRL. Your manager has been dodging my manager like he owe him back child support. Teyana you wanna play in my face now that I made it hot. TWO YEARS YOUR TEAM HAS BEEN PLAYING ME. TWO YEARS!!! Your dead ass right. It's a pandemic and I am tired of being treated like TRASH," Blanco replied.

Despite the back and forth, Taylor still called for Kanye and Universal to pay Blanco.
