No two ways about it: Aretha Franklin is a once in a generation voice; a gold standard for singers still, even at 74 years young. With a catalog that spans five decades and has touched the hearts of countless across seven continents (better believe they were feeling her power in the poles) Franklin, like luminaries before and after, has earned her spot on the throne.
And so it's only right that the Queen of Soul is honored with her very own tribute concert at NYC's storied Carnegie Hall. On March 6th, a dynamic group of artists, some contemporaries others disciples, will pay homage to the greatness that is Aretha Franklin. Michael Dorf will present and Antibalas will serve as the house band for the evening, while Living Colour, Todd Rundgren, Allen Stone, Sarah Dash, Kenny Loggins, Ann Wilson and more slated to perform. Proceeds from the show will be donated in full to organizations like Little Rock Kids, Grammy In The Schools, Sonic Arts For All, The Orchestra Now and others.
