Mixtape Monday Returns With An Eclectic Collection Of Sets From SassyBlack, Spiffler, Tuxedo & More
On this day where we honor the life + legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this week's Mixtape Monday boasts a truly eclectic collection of sets + sounds, including a mashup of Run The Jewels and DJ Shadow from DJ Skarface and an airtight hip-hop offering fro MarcNfinit from Washington, D.C.'s own Stereo Champions. The one + only Antal Heitlager serves up a proper primer on South African jazz, while Steve Spiffler colors outside the lines with a tape dedicated to Chicago's own Lil' Chano from the 79th, better known as Grammy-nominated Chance The Rapper. Last, but certainly, not least — our personal fave, SassyBlack, debuts the first in a new series of pop-inspired beat tapes, made exclusively of N'SYNC samples.

DJ Skarface is in the mix for Brooklyn Radio with a monster of a mix entitled Shadow The Jewels. Some of you read that and got it immediately. For those a little less informed, this means that Skarface made the genius decision to combine DJ Shadow's legendary production with Run The Jewels acapellas for a set that might be the greatest matchup of all mashups.
NTS2 x NAHHG & Grande Marshall - Tuesday Trips
NAHHG and Philly's own Grande Marshall join NTS2 for the latest edition of the Tuesday Trips mix series. NAHHG's tracks are featured alongside gems from some of the most exciting names making waves on the underground and experimental beat scene. The first in a new series of beat tapes from SassyBlack (fka ½ of THEEsatisfaction), Pop Treasury Vol. 1: *NSYNC* is a quick listen derived from her “love for pop and producing music.” SassyBlack plans to drop the subsequent tapes over the course of the year, so keep an ear out. Made entirely of N'SYNC samples, the first volume should make the rest of the series an easy sell. Plus, its SassyBlack, so go get your life!
