Stones Throw's Mild High Club Drops The Lucid, Lovely & Weird New Cut "Undeniable"
Stones Throw's new recruit Mild High Club AKA multi-instrumentalist Alexander Brettin's musical moniker, has proven to be a true student of pop music's more obscure side, concocting the type of dreamlike r&b-tinged frequencies that Ariel Pink and Conan Mockasin have hinged their stylings to. He first landed on our radar with the psychedelic sounds of "Windowpane" at the top of the year, but today he's given us a taste of the even weirder end of his wizardry. "Undeniable" is built and on a warped and withered groove that ascends like "Come On Eileen" then descends like a bad trip, but all with the an airy and effected vox hovering over the revery akin to Fab Four stylings, making for a very enjoyable (and fitting) score to your next hallucination.
