Iron Mike Takes On The Chupacabra In The Debut Of Adult Swim's 'Mike Tyson Mysteries'
A few weeks back, we got word that Adult Swim would be bringing the legendary tales of Iron Mike Tyson to the small screen in the off-beat cartoon adaptation Mike Tyson Mysteries. Its trailer revealed that the champ would be duking it out with dinosaurs and riding on the back of Pegasus, but I don't think there's much that could have prepared us for its debut. Last night Tyson and his band of crime-solvers (aka a ghost, his adopted Korean daughter and a whiskey-pounding pigeon voiced by Norm McDonald) set out to help a reclusive novelist finish his book with some style.
While on his ranch, Tyson & Co run across the mythical goat-slaying beast known as The Chupacabra to deal it a death blow before riding out into the sunset of a winged minotaur. Though its not exactly Tyson's first endeavor in comedy (see The Hangover ) the Hannah Barbera-styled zaniness might be the perfect outlet for such a closeted eccentric. And with Saturday morning cartoons having recently been ousted altogether, this a warm and welcome treat for the unflinching toon connoisseur, right on par with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab and the gamut of Adult Swim's animania. Go ahead and get familiar with Iron Mike's new look in the first episode of Mike Tyson Mysteries below and stay tuned for next week's installment.
