Miguel Fires Pointless Jab At Frank Ocean, Claims He Makes "Better" Music

Miguel Fires Pointless Jab At Frank Ocean, Claims His Music Is "Better"

Say it ain't so, Miguel. Say that all of the sexed-up sonic intercourse you cooked up on your latest record wasn't all in vein, that confidence you oozed at that intimate set in NYC last week wasn't just some stage-top sham. How can you, a platinum selling artist, a bonafide star by any measure, be so insecure as to jab at one of your contemporaries, a revered modern day music man in his own right (probably even more so than yourself) so shamelessly and unprovoked?

These are the questions that go through one's brain as we find out that the LA-born&raised crooner has fired shots at Frank Ocean during a recent interview with the UK's The Sunday Times, hoping to spark some sort of media war as Ocean readies his next album (which could drop any day now) claiming that he believes he "makes better music all around." I won't typically fall for such patently clickbait-y statements, but damn, are you really trying set yourself up for such pointless embarrassment? And do you really want to be the counterpoint to his album and prove that boys really do cry? Let's put aside trying to figure out what "better" means in this context and just stick to how totally unbecoming a statement like that is in just about any context. I mean, everyone thinks their mother's cooking is the best in the world, but somebody's gotta be wrong at some point, right?

The one thing that can be taken from this is that such mindless jabbing could only really be the product of one thing, and that's Miguel knowing that Frank's record will be arriving sooner than we initially imagined and that your boy's just a little antsy after losing a Grammy to him a few years back. Suppose we'll see how this all plays out, but damn Miguel, don't give us reason to not listen to your record and anticipate Frank's even more. That's just bad business.
