Method Man, Inspectah Deck & Two (!) Raekwons Connect On New Single "The Purple Tape"
Method Man & Raekwon have always had a special kind of chemistry that extends well-beyond their shared Shaolin Island origins and Wu-Tang–smanship. Today they make that connection known as Mef releases the latest single from his forthcoming The Meth Lab EP, featuring not one, but two Raekwons. That’s right, Method Man’s son, also named Raekwon, makes an appearance on this burly cut, which also taps Inspectah Deck for the outing, aptly-titled “The Purple Tape.” It’s a slice of classic Shaolin, even chanting the crew’s declarative MO “Wu-Tang is for the children,” also fitting as young Mef, err Rae is gracing the cut. The Meth Lab hits digital and physical stands Friday, August 21st via Tommy Boy/Hanz On and is available to preorder on iTunes today. Hear Method Man, Raekwon, young Raekwon and Inspectah Deck hit vintage Wu-Tang stride on “The Purple Tape” below.
