Twitter positively purred Thursday with fresh information on Meow The Jewels, the upcoming full remix of Run The Jewels' brilliant second LP made entirely of sampled cat sounds. According to tweets sent by producer-MC El-P himself, the new record will feature a remix from UK trip-hop legends Massive Attack, and should be arriving as early as September, if all goes according to plan.

El-P also went on to confirm that all of the proceeds from Meow the Jewels will be donated to charity, and stressed that the record will indeed be available across all major streaming services. "#MeowTheJewels is being made strictly to put money in hands of people in need," he tweeted. "[H]uge shout to all the amazing producers contributing. <3" Stereogum reports that the list of Meow The Jewels collaborators already includes Geoff Barrow of Portishead, The Alchemist, Zola Jesus, Baauer and Dan The Automator, but the addition of Massive Attack certainly adds to the draw of hearing the final, professional outcome of what began as a novelty crowdfunding campaign.

Fans already got their first taste of MtJ last week when the duo dropped "Meowrly," a remade version of their searing anti-police track "Early" that did, indeed, feature nothing but looped and modulated cat sounds in its production. Now, it seems, fans have even more to look forward to on the full disc, and won't be left waiting all that long before they can sink their claws into it all.
