Mayer Hawthorne Shares The Sweet & Soulful Old Gem "Handy Man"
Before he donned the Tuxedo, or the more contemporary soul stuff of Where Does This Door Go?, Mayer Hawthorne's sound was eternal Motown, tried and true. But as he steers towards r&b's future and the boogie base that sustains it, it's easy to forget just how sweet and soulful those early years were for the Detroit-bred vocalist and musician. You shouldn't fret, though. Hawthorne has provided an ample reminder for you in the form of "Handy Man," a slick-as-can-be Hitsville-styled number that finds the man doing what he does best, crooning a velvety tune.
