On May 22nd, The Billboard Music Awards will descend upon the city of Las Vegas to toast to the most commercially viable artists of the year. The ceremony will include all of the usual belles and whistles, hosted by Ludacris and Ciara. No real surprises, except for one. According to Pitchfork, Madonna, a longtime friend and one time collaborator of the late Prince, will be performing a tribute to the fallen Purple One at this year's ceremony, sending up her love and joining the rest of the world in doing so. The ceremony is slated to host performances from Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Nick Jonas, Celine Dion and quite a few others.
No word yet on what we'll be hearing from the pop-stress, but we're hoping it may be their 1989 collaboration "Love Song," which was featured on Like A Prayer. You can hear that collaboration down below, just be sure you tune-in on May 22nd to see it all go down live and direct. This will be the first awards ceremony to pay tribute to Prince this year and as such, is a must-watch for any purple patron.
