Lupe Fiasco & Nikki Jean Put One Up For Haile Selassie w/ Wavy New Single

Lupe Fiasco links with Nikki Jean for a proper tribute to Rastafarian messianic figure Haile Selassie with the release of a wavy new joint. With only a bit of allusion to the kush-burning following of the Ethiopian leader, Fiasco and Jean hold a proper torch up to his teachings and legacy with the Chicago MC reciting his words over some cosmic-trap styles from longtime associate Soundtrakk. It's worth noting that Trakk has helmed some of Lupe's most memorable musical moments (from "Kick, Push" to "Sunshine" to " Paris Tokyo") and seems to be integrally involved with his forthcoming Tetsuo & Youth LP.

While we're on the topic, the album is slated to drop January 1st of 2015 (1st & 15th, go figure) and if it marks the unholy reunion of this MC/producer tandem, the album might be worth a listen on that merit alone. The wavy tributary of "Haile Selassie" comes as a follow-up to the floaty magic of last week's Sirah-assisted "Lilies" and has us thinking your boy might very well be on his way to one of 2015's early superlatives, but I suppose only time will tell.
