LL Cool J Finally Addressed Past Beef with MC Hammer

It's settled.

LL Cool J has finally cleared the air about his age-old beef with MC Hammer.

The hip-hop legend teamed up with SiriusXM in March on Rock The Bells Radio before launching the fan-focused Instagram interview series, “Rock The Bells Q&A with LL Cool J" on IGTV.

In the latest installment, an Instagram user asked, "Why did you have a beef with MC Hammer back in the day?" and  LL responded,

I didn't have a beef with MC Hammer; MC Hammer had a beef with me. And he knows I love him."

He continued, "I think he just said my name in a record for attention. He did what he had to do.... But I never had any problems, personally, with Hammer. I lit him up ‘cause that’s what I was supposed to do," he laughed."

After Hammer mentioned LL's name in his 1987 song, "Let's Get It Started," LL dissed Hammer — as well as Ice-T and Kool Moe Dee — on his 1990 song, "To da Break of Dawn"

In the video, LL goes on to say, "I've had so many battles. So many artists have come at me from different directions. It just comes with the territory. That's the fun part."

"Rock The Bells Q&A with LL Cool J” airs November 13th at 9am PST on @LLCoolJ’s IGTV.
