NYC duo Lion Babe have a plan to get your feet moving with their brand new single “Impossible.” The track made its world debut over the weekend thanks to BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, and the streamable copy hit the web Monday afternoon over at i-D. Over an absolutely glorious handclap-and-kick-drum beat, vocalist Jillian Harvey sings a song of self-affirmation. “You can break it down, shake me / Don’t try to rearrange me / No way that you can change me, it’s impossible,” the hook professes, continuing the positive message that we heard on Lion Babe’s recent “Wonder Woman” single.
i-D reports that “Impossible” is the result of a London writing and recording session between Lion Babe and British singer-songwriter/producer Joel Compass and Linden Jay. Bright and confident straight through to the last second, it’s easy to picture Harvey showcasing her trained footwork on stage while the group’s beatmaker Lucas Goodman cools out on the MPC. Listen to “Impossible” below and be prepared to have a sunnier afternoon than usual. Check out the duo’s full tour itinerary after the jump, and if you’re in the UK be sure to catch them at this weekend’s Lovebox festival.
