LION BABE Shimmers In The New Video For "Don't Break My Heart"
NYC's premier soul music futurists LION BABE have been wining and dining when it comes to visual representation for their self-titled debut EP. First we got a taste of the lioness herself, Miss Jillian Harvey in action in the video for "Jump Hi" (assisted by Childish Gambino.) Then came the clip for "Treat Me Like Fire" in all of its blown-out glory and a big, bold cover of Curtis Mayfield's icono-cut "Move On Up." But today, we're treated to a new side of the dazzling duo, in the video for their latest single off the record "Don't Break My Heart," finding Harvey in a stunning, metallic coat (and barely anything else) contorting and twisting to the tune of their markedly more boom-bap treated number, fiery and cooled all at once. Which is to say that the Harvey/Goodman pairing manages to rest on the line between progressively minded r&b-ism and the classics, without ever losing their footing on either end of the spectrum.
