Lindsey Returns With Pitch-Perfect Synthesizers On Her New Single "Jack"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Lindsey has apparently dropped the "DJ" from her name, but her beatwork remains inspired and fierce. On her new single "Jack," the NYC dance madness facilitator dips into just the right amount of 80s nostalgia, but has tweaked her synthesizers to to keep things more Drive than Flashdance. Featuring production from The Twilite Tone for D/\P with additional production by Sammy Bananas, the track coasts along like a neon-lit train headed to the loft party of your wildest dreams. If you're a sucker for steady beats, well then this right here is the good stuff.

"Jack" premiered over at The Fader, and in an interview with the magazine Lindsey called it "a part of a larger project with The Twilite Tone and we both love '80s r&b and dance music. Particularly where both of those things intersect." Much of those plans had to be shelved, however, and now we're getting a taste of what have been (or still may be) a full-on/full-length project. "Tone got busy with producing with Kanye and crew, so we took a break and would get to it when we could. Finally Sammy saved the day and he and I finished up 'Jack' to start with and there's possibly one other from this project to come!" Listen to "Jack" below and slide away into synthetic, multihued wonder.
