Ms. Lauryn Hill responds to fans after late start to her recent concert.
It's no secret that Ms. Lauryn Hill is something of an international treasure; recognized far and wide as a trailblazing leader by any measure in any land. Nothing underscores that recognition like the performance Ms. Hill delivered--and the reaction she received--on her recent appearance in West Africa. At the end of August, the world-famous ex-Fugee took a trip down to Lagos to make good on a heartfelt promise she delivered earlier this year, blazing a stage in Nigeria for a packed house. Our comrades at Okayafrica were there (literally, see below) to capture every moment, including a stop at the famed Shrine to rub elbows with Seun Kuti and the whole Kuti dynasty; descendants of the incomparable Afrobeat king, Fela Kuti.
