It's been a rollercoaster of a week for Kid Cudi, but it seems all is right in the end. The MC had to cancel his upcoming "Especial" tour on Tuesday, citing tumult in his personal life that needed addressing before the shows could go on. As a make-up offering to disappointed fans, Cudi shared the single "Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven" off his upcoming LP of the same name, and now he's gone and dropped the entire record, which, we must admit, is a damn impressive move.
Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven features the brash, punk-guitar-fueled sound that we heard on previous Kid Cudi singles including "Wedding Tux" and "Judgmental C*nt," but that's not to say it's an unrefined album. Across the 26 tracks of SB2H, Cudi alters his stylistics at will and seems to offer an unrepentantly personal, fraught and compelling piece of himself. This is the most Kid Cudi thing that Kid Cudi has ever done; that gets a salute.
