Kendrick Lamar Performs "i" At The Cleveland Cavaliers' Home Opener

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

It's been quite a year for King Kendrick LamarHe landed on one of the most anticipated albums of the year with his verse on Flying Lotus' "Never Catch Me" and then got us teeming with excitement for his own good kid follow-up when he dropped funk-flecked, Isley Brothers-blessed single "i" out of the damn blue. But there's another king looking to make a comeback this year and he happens to go by Lebron James, who has notoriously rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers in a bid to recapture our hearts. And so, one King ushered in a new era for another when Kendrick took to a stage outside of Cleveland's stadium to perform his comeback joint before thousands of loyal Clevelanders to get the mood set for James' return after 4 years and two championships down South. It was a powerful performance backed by the seasoned TDE house band and it was the perfect warm-up for LBJ's resurgence, but it wasn't enough to get the Cavs a win, as they were upset in a close match with the Knicks. Somewhere Uncle Spike is smiling ear-to-ear. Watch Kendrick Lamar perform his hit "i" for The Cleveland Cavaliers' home opener down below and cop the single on iTunes today.
