Kendrick Lamar takes his blazing new single "I" for its inaugural live spin at Toronto's We Day festivities. Our friends north of the border were treated to a Compton-bred spectacle, as Lamar delivered his sermon of self-love and respect to a crowd full of youngins, all taking part in the festival's own celebration of civic engagement and duty. Seriously, could there be a more appropriate venue and viewership for this new brand of uplifting frequencies?
It hasn't been the warmest reception to this new page in the King Kendrick book, in fact, the world has been ablaze with mixed sentiments towards the funk-fortified single since its drop last week. We're here to tell you that after one peek at K Dot running through that torrent of fiery verbal, there's no doubt you'll continue on with your day as a new-found believer in the power of this Isley Brothers-sanctioned and sampled joint. There's still no word on whether Lamar's follow-up to the game-changing good kid mAAd city LP will be number 6 for TDE's 2014 roll-out, but you know where to get the dirt when it comes to surface. Watch Kendrick Lamar light the stage up with band in tow as we performs "I" in Toronto below. Just remember: Kendrick is for the kids.
