Kanye West's Casting Call for Season 4: 'Multiracial Women Only'

In a casting call posted on his Twitter account, Kanye West requires a very specific type of woman: "multiracial."

The Twitter post is a casting call for Season 4, the upcoming collection of Kanye West's apparel collection. The listing says "multiracial women only," along with a prompting of "no makeup please come as you are."

The casting is on Sunday, Sept. 4 in New York City.

The listing has naturally caused controversy: mixed race women are often fetishized as "exotic," while black women are chastised as less desirable. Rappers like A$AP Rocky and Kodak Black have come under fire for their disparaging comments about dark-skinned women.

People have questioned Kanye West's racial politics for a while, since ex-girlfriend Amber Rose is fair-skinned and wife Kim Kardashian is white. And even dating back to a December 2006 interview with Essence magazine, Kanye said, "If it wasn't for race mixing, there'd be no video girls. Me and most of my friends like mutts a lot."

The casting call has definitely caused a stir online, but Kanye West hasn't taken the tweet down, and he hasn't responded to the complaints. So it appears like Kanye, who just recently hit the road for his Saint Pablo tour, is perfectly fine with the perception he's getting from what he's asking for. He's used to causing commotion after all.
