It isn’t quite Friday yet, but we’re already getting something (kinda) new from Kanye West. Ok, actually this more of a-new-to-you type release, where someone or something tapped into the weird and wild internet current and came up with something big. Huge, really.
Back in 2013, it was hard to turn a corner without hearing the relentless thump of Kanye’s “Black Skinhead” pummeling through your brainwaves. But today, whether by intention or by mishap, a remix of the track found its way to the internets, featuring heavy contributions from shock-artist Miley Cyrus and fellow GOOD Music misfit Travi$ Scott, transforming the savagery of “Black Skinhead” into something more pristine altogether. Sonically, you have Miley belting the the hook to Tears For Fears’ classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” interspersed with some assists from Scott, all over a production that marries The Neptunes sound with Lonerism-era Tame Impala.
It’s a fresh take of a Yeezus standout and it’s available for you to hear down below. And if it doesn’t quite please, just hold tight for another 24 hours. Tomorrow is Friday, after all.
