Recent Blue Note signee Kandace Springs has been dazzling us with her big, full-float vox for the past year or so. Whether strutting that voice over finely tuned, jazz-flecked r&b joints or hitting hooks for Ghostface Killah on his '60s soul-channelling boom-bap specimen "Love Don't Live Here No More," Springs' talents shine bright as can be where ever they are applied. Today, she's graced us with the premiere of a video for her true-to-form cover of country act Little Big Town's bluesy little ballad "Girl Crush," lacing the slow-burning confessional with a tender, yet powerful vocal treatment that easily one-ups the original take. And while Springs is best known for studio work, her live show is a sight to be seen and a sound that demands to be heard. For all of you NYC locals, you can catch her upon the Brooklyn Bowl stage May 26th, as the supporting act for blue-eyed soul-smith Allen Stone. If you're one for the festival circuit, you can also catch a glimpse of Springs & Co. in action when they land on the Bonnaroo stage June 13th. So mark your calendars and get your weekend started with a little bluesy seduction. Watch Kandace Springs perform "Girl Crush" down below and grab a copy of her self-titled Blue Note debut on iTunes today for a proper introduction.
