It's hard to believe thatJustin Timberlake's journey to certified stardom began over two decades ago. Even harder to believe that that journey began in one of American music's greatest hubs; the city of Memphis. And while many, including this writer, have long thought the Mickey Mouse Club alum laid more claim to Florida than Tennessee as stomping grounds, Timberlake has never shied away from championing Memphis as his hometown; the true origin point for his borderline dynastic career in music and entertainment at large.

This past weekend, Timberlake along with legends, living and passed, like Sam Moore of Sam & Dave, Booker T. & The MGs drummer Al Jackson Jr., Charlie Rich, Alberta Hunter and several others, all officially inducted into the Memphis Music Hall Of Fame, joining the likes of Otis Redding, BB King, The Bar-Kays, Albert King and countless blues, gospel and r&b luminaries that hail from the city.

But it was the "Dick In The Box" singer who garnered the most hoots and hollers as, quite naturally, any man of his time should. Timberlake was introduced by longtime friend and occasional partner in rhyme, Jimmy Fallon, and later went on to perform the Otis Redding classic "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay" with fellow inductee, Sam Moore, proving his unflinching love for the city and its countless fruits in spades.
