Joey Badass x The Combat Jack Show

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Joey Bada$$ visits The Combat Jack Show for a 3-part interview about his life as an MC - a conversation that spans the length of his meteoric rise from the depths of the social media abyss as a hungry MC repping for Brooklyn to being flown back to New York after a show to meet with Jay-Z. Joey Bada$$ admits he is still attempting to make sense of his trajectory and accomplishments thus far - a list that includes standing at the helm of a crazy squad of MCs known as the Pro Era crew, collaborating with a laundry list of young heavyweights for A$AP Rocky's "1 Train" and spitting over production from DJ Premier. He is also careful to take his time taking flight; Joey Bad pushed his forthcoming Summer Knights LP back and made the decision to drop the project for free after determining he could stand a bit more gestation before jumping into the three-ring circus of solo album sales. In a very short amount of time Joey Bada$$ has proven himself with an endless supply of contemplative bars, clever lyricism and a crazy passion for restoring the golden era aesthetic that first made New York king.
