Joey Bada$$ - "Curry Chicken" (prod by Statik Selektah)

Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson & Elle Varner Link On The Smooth New Joint "Run Up On Ya"

Joey Bada$$ comes through with the new Statik Selektah-sculpted heater "Curry Chicken" off his forthcoming B4DA$$ LP. Breezy and bounce-filled as anything we've heard from the verbal athlete, "Curry Chicken" finds him delivering a flurry of introspective rhymes over a production that channels the wavy wonderment of Blessed Coast production to a tee with whirling synth licks and a break that flips from boom-bap to dance-floor fodder without any warning. But this isn't some act of West Coast emulation or swagger jacking in any capacity, as the grit and grime of the East is lacquered on and thick. And it provides a strong case for Stat and Young Bada$$ leading the charge to redeem the mighty East's footing in the rap-game, overrun with Top Dawgs, Canadian half-croons and Australian Barbie Dolls. It marks yet another fine collaboration between Joey and Stat, following the unveiling of the treacherous clip for "No. 99" just last week. And it's all got us feeling like B4DA$$ is going to be a true force come January 20th. Until then, rock with Joey Bada$$ and Statik Selektah's "Curry Chicken" below and preorder the album via iTunes today. Keep it locked for all the Pro Era goodies in the weeks to come.
