Jalen Hurts Reaches $255 Million Deal With Help of All-Women Management Team
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has received a five-year $255 million extension contract, making him the highest-paid player in football history.
Jalen Hurts has leveled up thanks to the assistance of his all-women management team. On Monday (April 17), the 24-year-old Philadelphia Eagles quarterback reached a $255 million extension deal with his team, including $179.3 million guaranteed, per ESPN. The deal officially makes Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history.
The $179.3 million in guaranteed money is also the second-most in league history, and also has a negotiated no-trade clause, a first for this type of contract. Hurts was picked by the Eagles in 2020 and has since fulfilled his third season with the team. Last year, Hurts earned No. 2 in MVP voting, No. 3 in Offensive Player of the Year voting, was titled All-Pro, and was voted to the Pro Bowl.

Credited with Hurts’ negotiation is his agent, Nicole Lynn, who previously represented players on the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Hurts, who was previously in the process of finding an agent before meeting Lynn, received a DM from her, initiating their professional relationship.
“I know the agent world in the NFL, and all sports, is very male-dominated,” Hurts told Sports Illustrated last August. “But Nicole was really on top of her stuff. She was prepared. She knew what she was talking about. She was hungry. And she was determined. And I feel that determination like that never rests. Once you come across such a determined individual, that just hits me a little different.”
Also on Hurts team are four other women: public relations and client services executives Chantal Romain and Shakeemah Simmons-Winter; manager Jenna Malphrus and marketing specialist Rachel Everett.
Along with the news of his contract extension, Hurts is the cover star on the May/June issue of Essence.

“I’m not doing anything to be different,” Hurts told the publication about his management team. “I just think that’s the way it’s been ordained. I have the ultimate amount of respect for anyone who goes out there and grinds for something. Puts the work in, and they go get it done. I don’t put a gender on those things.”
