Soundset 2015 Logo
A clear sign that the Minneapolis-St. Paul hip-hop scene is continuing to diversify and prosper, the Soundset Music Festival's 2015 lineup was announced today. On the bill are J. Cole, Ice Cube, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Atmosphere, Big Sean, Ludacris, Brother Ali, Smif-n-Wessun and many more. Presented by Rhymesayers, the festival has grown up form its origins as a small local showcase into a full-on national draw. Past years have brought the likes of Nas, Chance the Rapper, Snoop Dogg and Ghostface Killah up to Minnesota for the one-day festival, help just outside the Minneapolis city limits.
This year's festival goes down on May 24th and is buffeted by a strong crop of local talent, including Brother Ali, Dessa, Aesop Rock and deM atlaS, and will be co-hosted by Sway Calloway. B-Boy/B-Girl competitions, an on-grounds car show, food from dozens of local vendors and a Skateboard Showdown will help round out the day.
