And it doesn't get much tastier than this. The latest release from the ever-excellent folks at Jakarta Records is "Reaping," a cut that sees Oslo-based producer Fredfades matching wits with fellow Norwegians MC Ivan Ave and trumpeter Kristoffer Eikrem. "Reaping" is a dusty chopped loop, plain and simple, and its calm soul drums mesh perfectly with the low-boil flow of Mr. Ave. Sprinkle some soft rainy-day trumpet lines from Eikrem and plant it all over a bassline that moves in all the right directions and you have the recipe for a perfect weekend joint--the kind you and a love one can brew coffee to.
