Just a day following the pioneer's 77th lap around the sun, Herbie Hancock has announced a meaty new tour for the oncoming summer months. He'll spend much of June and July gracing jazz festival stages across Europe, landing back in the states at the top of August to rock 13 stateside shows. You can peep the full set of dates down below.
As far as the studio goes, Hancock has been particularly active in the world of film, cast in Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planet, River of Gold and Miles Ahead in just the last few years. He joined Carlos Santana and Chick Corea in the supergroup, Mega Nova, last year, though an album is likely still a ways out. Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper are rumored to be contributors to Hancock's next solo album.
