As Hannibal Buress prepares for the debut of his new Comedy Central show Why? With Hannibal Buress (hint: it drops tomorrow), he’s fired off what is either a brilliantly-timed promo or just another broken off bit of genius from the giant kit-kat bar of genius that inhabits his brain.
In new segment framed as Buress’s audition attempt for hosting duties at The Daily Show, Buress tries admirably but fails miserably (and hilariously) at doing Jon Stewart‘s job. Watch as Hannibal admits he thought “daily” had more of a weekly connotation to it, and wonders aloud if Stew Beef wasn’t caught redhanded, given that he’s being replaced. We also catch the Hannibal Buress take on Barack Obama‘s edamame addiction and germaphobe status. We also get treated to a “Moment of Zen” treatment that involves much more Ben Stiller than anyone would ever want or need. Jon Stewart’s final night of hosting The Daily Show will take place August 6th, and for the nostalgic types out there Comedy Central is running a marathon of every episode in its 15+ year history, which you can enjoy right here. Watch Buress’s audition below.
