OKP Premiere: Govales Attempts To Recapture His Soul In A Haunting New Visual For "Doors To Nowhere"
Over the last year, we’ve become keenly aware of the hypnotic indie-r&b stylings of one Govales. The NYC-based singer/songwriter entranced us with the heavenly and sensual single “FREAKAZOID,” but it was his feature of the song “Doors To Nowhere” in the trailer for Spike Lee‘s recent thriller Da Sweet Blood Of Jesus that really got our ears perked, our brains wrapped around the dreamy sonic scapes that Govales was churning out. And so, with a high-profile feature and plenty of subsequent buzz in the months since, the gifted vocalist and musician has released his own equally mesmerizing short for “Doors To Nowhere,” where a seemingly harmless performance amongst some dapper dames finds him taken by their haunting glares and led to a point where its fight or flight with his soul being wagered at every corner; a perfectly spooked visual specimen to lead you into this weekend’s fright night festivities. But what’s more, it’s a taste of a forthcoming film project that will begin it’s roll early next year. So keep your head on a swivel for even more dope-ness from Govales in the new year and in the meantime, whet your palette with the new clip for “Doors To Nowhere” below.
