Goldlink & Falcons Connect Over A Dynamite Missy Elliott Sample On "Vroom"

DMV MC Goldlink Teams With Montreal Producer Kaytranada For The Summertime Banger "Sober Thoughts."

Continuing his output of airtight verbals, DMV area MC Goldlink shipped a massive new track last week, featuring production by Falcons and a certain sample you'll be sure to recognize. The appropriately-titled "Vroom"--and yes it's safe to say this one goes--begins a kicked-back banger that utilizes both casual keys work and the sort of über-lazy trap hi-hats that the likes of Sango and Mr. Carmack have hade their currency. But it goes a little deeper than that. Falcons production shifts and jukes as the track unwinds, with bass coming to dominate the cut's later half as those keys slowly dwindle into lazy off-beat afterthoughts. Credit Falcons's production for the floaty feel on this one--it seems there's more than one birdman out there crushing it. Goldlink utilizes Falcons's expertise to carve out rhymes boasting just how dangerous and dashing he is at all times and in all places, and of course that's Missy Elliott's "The Rain" sliding back and forth underneath it all. This is the kind of music that makes you want to set the cruise control and drive all night.

We last heard from the duo of Falcons and Goldlink over in the pages of Okayfuture, where Gold mixed with Soulection for a dynamic visual and Falcons told us all about LA's futuristic tones. The two are a perfect match of smooth and sharp--here's hoping we hear more fruits of their funky partnership soon.
