I suppose for the avid west coast hip-hop enthusiast, Freddie Gibbs feels like the slightly more G-ed-out relative of a Snoop Dogg or a Mac Dre, even though he hails from the land of The Jacksons (Gary, IN.) But doesn't that just make him the perfect guest for Uncle Snoop's GGN program? Yes, dear friends, it does. Gibbs & Snoop are like two kush-blowing peas in a pod on the latest installment of Snoop's hit web-series, where they discussed how Gangsta Gibbs got his name (an ode to Tommy Gibbs of Black Caesar, scored by the mighty James Brown) their favorite blaxploitation flicks and some of the lesser known histories of those films. They shared their personal strains of herbal, as well as tales of fatherhood and connected on their former athletic exploits, not to forget Gibbs' father-in-law the great Eric Dickerson, who still owns more than 15 NFL records. And so, really, it was just another day in the life with two of the best in the game, but captured on the haze-filled lens of GGN. And it's all available for your viewing pleasure down below. Watch Freddie Gibbs & Snoop Dogg on GGN and stay tuned for the next episode.
