As if we weren't already feeling all the holiday love, that next level funkateer/producer/composer/graphic artist/emcee Flying Lotus got in the giving mood and dropped a doozie of a stocking stuffer with a free 24 track download of remixes, outtakes and other exclusive cuts that have yet to be enjoyed by his adoring public. The tracks range from those lovely progressive 8-bit sensibilities of his 1983 days to the delicate darkness of his most recent record Until The Quiet Comes, not to mention a nod or two for all of you Adult Swim heads.
With his follow up to the groundbreaking UTQC in the oven, FlyLo gives us a peak into some of the tracks that either missed the cut or were too good to share. With the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, Mapei, Viktor Vaughn and DJ Mehdi lending themselves to some of Flying Lotus' most dynamic material, you can be sure this one's a keeper (no white elephant needed here fam.) And we certainly can't forget the dynamite rework of Kanye's "Black Skinhead" featuring none other than the bass-toting virtuoso Thundercat (plenty more of the funky feline for those looking to get their FlyLo x Cat fix) They say Christmas comes but once year, however it seems the lotus-of-all-trades has set out to prove otherwise this holiday season.
