Kendrick Lamar made it easy to pun-out the headlines revolving around his new album, DAMN. Most of this has nothing to do with the album's title and everything to do with its declaration, and subsequent deliverance, of the greatest rapper alive. The accolades have already been plentiful; beating Drake's opening week sale by nearly 100,000 units, virtually unanimous critical adoration and the clean sweep of No. 1 song ("Humble") and album in the country.
And now another for the belt: each and every song on Kendrick's new album is sitting pretty on Billboard's Hot 100, which is just about the best way to gauge the sheer amount of ears on this thing. That, and people are sticking around for the whole ride. Rare even for a 13 track project. In any case, Kung Fu Kenny's out here karate-chopping the hell outta these charts and he doesn't look to be letting up in a hurry, as he hits the road with Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. this summer for the live and direct extension of DAMN.
