In Eminem's book, there is probably no more influential MC than the late Tupac Amaru Shakur. He's cited the legendary rapper/writer/actor in countless rhymes and yesterday he managed to add yet another sentimental notion in honor of the great Shakur, penning a handwritten ode in the form of a letter addressed to his mother, activist Afeni Shakur, thanking her for bringing such an important and impactful figure into the world, for nurturing his light and for being such in immovable force in his life. The letter's penmanship could be hit for it's almost childlike scribble, but the words are as earnest and moving as anything you may have seen from the Detroit rapper. He even etched out a sketch of Pac to share with his mother, who has yet to confirm that they are, in fact, pen-pals, but we certainly hope to learn more of the relationship between Marshall and Afeni in the days to come, knowing that Pac is smiling here (for you truthers) or in the afterlife with glee and affection. You can read Eminem's heartfelt letter to Afeni Shakur below along with his pen-made portrait of Tupac above. Em's curated OST for the upcoming film Southpaw is available to preorder today on iTunes.
