Over the last 7 or 8 years, New Zealand has emerged as a haven for forward-minded music men and women, with the terrific twosome Electric Wire Hustle leading that electrified charge. After a line-blurring outing with their sophomore record Love Can Prevail just last year, vocalist Mara TK and keyboardist/producer Taay Ninh are back with the sobering new cut "Golden Ladder"; a brooding meditation on spirituality and truth set against a booming low-end, cascades of bells and subterranean synth beds that recall the later, more electronic years of J Dilla's prolific catalogue.
