Talib Kweli in Dynasty's Stay Shinin' video
Dynasty returns with Talib Kweli in the video for her track "Stay Shinin'" a rappity-rap tour de force over a particularly nasty piece of business produced by Jinx--a variation on the theme of sampling obscure covers of songs made famous by Nina Simone (in this case "I Put A Spell On You"). Kweli is a busy cat these days, ever since his quick winter break for "Electric Relaxation" he's been collaborating with everyone from Ryan Leslie to French Montana and stopping by Hot97 yesterday to kick it with Angie Martinez about his new LP Prisoner of Conscious--a convo which among other tidbits, yielded a firm new date for the LP release (April 23rd). Meanwhile the Detroit Free Press revealed this week that Kweli will be joining Royce da 5'9, Frank n' Dank, Illa J, DJ Spinna, House Shoes, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and co-hosts Grap Luva and Yo-Yo (don't play) at the 2nd annual Dilla Day Tribute Concert.
