Earlier this year it was announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda would bring his expertise to Derek Waters' hit Comedy Central series, Drunk History. And last night, the Hamilton buff's episode officially hit the airwaves, boasting a cast that included Alia Shawkat, Aubrey Plaza, Tony Hale, David Wain and, of course, Hamilton stan-for-life, our very own Questlove, who Facetimes into the episode to deliver a straight-edge (but hilarious) assist in telling some lesser-known tales from the whiskey-stained pages of the Drunk History's books. Namely, those of the long-standing rivalry between Hamilton and Aaron Burr.
Shawkat takes on the role of Hamilton himself as Plaza portrays Burr, all while Miranda and Waters knock back glass after glass of Tennessee Whiskey. Seeing as how his box-office-busting Broadway musical is still virtually inaccessible to the masses (recently breaking records for ticket prices and gross earnings over the holiday weekend) this could be the closest you get to the show no critic or pedestrian can speak ill of. Hit the link below to watch Lin-Manuel Miranda narrate the latest episode of Drunk History and tune in next Tuesday for another slurred-to-perfection installment of the show.
