Drake has enjoyed most of 2016 on the charts with Views and record-breaking streams of “One Dance,” and he plans to make one more drop before the end of the year.
On a special edition of his OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1, Drizzy announced that he plans to release a new project called More Life in December. He’s also performing around Europe in the Boy Meets World Tour.
“I’m off like mixtapes, I want to do a playlist. I want to give you a collection of songs that become the soundtrack to your life, so this More Life: The Playlist. Like I said, dropping in December. All original music from me. You might hear some tunes from the family on there. Just really excited. I had a great tour, I had a great summer. And most people would like go probably take a break, but for me I just want to get right back to it. Be with the people again.
Boy Meets World Tour, coming up soon. UK, I’ll be there soon. Big up to UK massive. Everybody—Paris, Amsterdam, Sweden, anywhere we are touching down. But yeah, I just want to celebrate life. More life. That’s what we live by. That’s something we not take for granted.”
Drake followed the announcement by premiering four songs on the show: “Two Birds One Stone,” “Sneakin,” “Fake Love,” and a remix of Dave’s “Wanna Know.”
The announcement comes after the most successful year of Drake’s career. Views was number one on the Billboard 200 charts for 13 weeks, and “One Dance” became his first number one single as a lead artist, spending ten weeks at number one. “One Dance” was also recently announced as the most streamed song in Spotify history, with over 880 million streams. He had been on the road for his Summer Sixteen Tour until recently, when he had to take off dates under doctor’s orders to treat a leg injury.
