After dazzling us with with both footwork and frantic frequency in the TEKLIFE remix of Kanye West‘s “All Day,” DJ Spinn has released a seismic, jazz-inflected follow-up that shines light on the legacy of collaborator and lifelong homie, the late and inarguably great DJ Rashad. “Dubby,” like much of Spinn & Rashad’s catalogue, boasts the blistering pace and ghettotech flag-flying we’ve come to love from the Windy City’s TEKLIFE founders, championing the steps that now define the Chicago aesthetic and warehouse parties that nurture it, with even a nod from a very fitting Danny Brown, who would absolutely obliterate this thing with a more a embellished treatment. But this will certainly do as our first taste of Spinn’s forthcoming Hyperdub debut Off That Loud, dropping September 11th. Watch as DJ Spinn hits us with some fancy footwork in the video for his DJ Rashad collaboration “Dubby” down below and hold tight for the new piece.
