Fresh off his The Greatest Rapper Never series, the homie Dice Raw is back and readying the release of his next album, Jimmies Back.The album, inspired by the critically acclaimed book, The New Jim Crow, by Michelle Alexander takes a decidedly different tone from Dice's last work. Says Dice of the project: "an outline of my life at age 11 to 16 where the block was everything to me where I pretty much learned what i know today far as street smarts and my view of the world at that point hop you like it." Jimmies Back will be out on Juneteenth 2013 (6/19). I'll be very interested to see where Dice takes this album with the aforementioned themes weaved into the storyline. For now, listen to the first single, "Over" produced by frequent collaborator Khari Mateen - I'd say Dice is off to a good start with this one.
