On a recent airing of Good Morning Britain, Rodman offered to act as a mediator between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un to "straighten things out for everyone to get along."
"If the president tries to reach out to Kim, I think there would be a great possibility that things would happen," Rodman said. "If they could sit down and have some kind of mutual conversation and try and start some dialogue, that could open the door just a little bit."

Rodman has ties to both Trump and Jong-un, having been on the former's reality TV series Celebrity Apprentice in 2013 and voicing his support of his presidential campaign back in 2015. As for the latter, Rodman considers him a "friend for life," with the former NBA athlete revealing that he and Jong-un sing karaoke, as well as ski and ride horses together.
However, it is unlikely that Trump will take Rodman's advice, having already said that "talking is not the answer" with North Korea.
Currently, Trump is dealing with the backlash following his termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Barack Obama called out Trump for ending DACA, writing in a Facebook post:
Let’s be clear: the action taken today isn’t required legally. It’s a political decision and a moral question. Whatever concerns or complaints Americans may have about immigration in general, we shouldn’t threaten the future of this group of young people who are here through no fault of their own, who pose no threat, who are not taking away anything from the rest of us…Ultimately, this is about basic decency. This is about whether we are a people who kick hopeful young strivers out of America, or whether we treat them the way we’d want our own kids to be treated. It’s about who we are as a people – and who we want to be.
