dEnAuN (AKA Mr. Porter) Steps Into The Light w/ The Transformative 'sTuFf In My BaCkPaCk' EP

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

A fixture of Detroit's rap community (and let's be real, the rap game at large) for over 15 years, dEnAuN AKA Mr. Porter is finally having his moment in the spotlight. The last two decades have found Porter at the helm of some of hip-hop's greatest records, including Pharoahe Monch's Desire, D12's Devil's Night (of which he was a member,) and some of Eminem's earliest recordings, dating back to his debut EP (on top of a sprawling list of others.)

But Porter's ready, now more than ever, to usher in the next phase of his already gleaming career; this time around as the dynamic do-it-all that his peers have long known him as. And with the first step to renewal always being a purge of sorts, we have the distinct pleasure of bringing you the first piece to his transformation. sTuFf In My BaCkPaCk is a short and sweet batch of potent r&b, spiked with Daisy Age hip-hop and soul, featuring a slew of heavy-hitting spitters like Rapsody, Pharoahe Monch, Royce Da 5'9", Young Roc and Phonte, all gracing cuts that range from the supremely boom-bap to love-jonesin' lullabies to jazz-infused, ivory-flecked bangers.

It's a tight exposition of the Hitsville dynamo's new groove, but don't get too comfortable, the artist formerly known as Mr. Porter will be delivering a whole new set of funk by year's end. So get it while you can. Stream dEnAuN's blazing sTuFf In My BaCkPaCk EP below and grab your own copy on iTunes today.
