Mark Linkous, who passed away in 2010, was the frontman of the indie rock band Sparklehorse.

Danger Mouse has shared a new song he made with Sparklehorse (the late Mark Linkous) prior to the latter's death.

As Pitchfork reports, the track is titled "Ninjarous" and features MF DOOM. It also has drums from the Black Keys' Patrick Carney.

"Mark and I worked on a lot of music together," Danger Mouse said in a statement. "But it was the song that he and I wrote and recorded with MF DOOM that really resonated with him. It was one of his favorites, so I’m happy to have this opportunity to pay tribute to him by getting it out there."

Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse released a collaborative album titled Dark Night of the Soul in July 2010. Sparklehorse passed away three months prior to the project's release.

"Ninjarous" will be included on a forthcoming compilation for Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records called 30th Century Volume 2.

Previously, Danger Mouse collaborator CeeLo had shared that the two were working on a new Gnarls Barkley album.

"We have already started on a new Gnarls Barkley album. We’re halfway in and we have some overtures from the other projects that may not have stood the test of time, we don’t know yet," CeeLo said of the project in 2018.
