D'Angelo To Play NYC's Forest Hills Stadium With Gary Clark Jr.
If you’re living in NYC, you’re loving D’Angelo something special these days. The funk musketeer has announced yet another live Big Apple live date, this one at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on June 21st. Blues guitar phenom Gary Clark Jr. has been given the opening slot, meaning that once again a D date has become the must-see concert of the season. Tickets for the concert (which is listed as a full D’Angelo & The Vanguard show) go on sale April 24th at noon, with a presale set for the 23rd at 10 a.m. You can go ahead and bookmark the purchase page here.
As we can attest first-hand, D’Angelo concerts are spiritual, soul-cleansing events, and the chance to see the man himself on the Forest Hills Stadium stage that once hosted Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan. A warm city night, some rollicking guitar licks courtesy of Mr. Clark, and a full set of first-tier funk courtesy of The Vanguard? You’ll know where to find us on June 21. Take a look back at our recaps of D’Angelo’s Best Buy Theater and Apollo NYC shows, and read up on the full list of his current summer tour schedule below.
